Sayaboury, Lao PDR

As one of the only places in southeast Asia to rewild captive elephants, the Elephant Conservation Center is a must-see destination. Tucked away in remnant elephant habitat, the ECC is home to over 29 elephants. This is a passive-viewing center, where elephant education and conservation are at the forefront of priorities.

With over 30 Sumatran elephants, Mason Elephant Park & Lodge offers rescued elephant respite from HEC and provides an enriching environment with excellent welfare standards. A visit to the Kulen Elephant Forest will not only help the elephants of Angkor but all elephants in Cambodia through the Kulen Elephant Forest conservation projects. Elephants at KEF roam free in their natural habitat.

The Mekong Elephant Park combines ecotourism, elephant well-being and community development. Located within a stunning 50-hectare forest, all revenue is used to rescue elephants, provide veterinary care, and to provide mahouts with a sustainable wage.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Elephant Jungle Sanctuary (EJS) is a tourism project about elephants, established in 2014.


It is a joint initiative between Karen Hill-tribes and Thai people to create an ethical and sustainable elephant camp for tourists.


There are six elephants ranging in age from 4 to 26 years.
